🆕 Enhancement releases

We've been busy! Here's a sneak peek at our March 2025 new features and improvements:

New Sign-up and Log-in enhancement

We redesigned Formative's sign-up and log-in screens and flows for a more consistent look and smoother customer experience. Along with this redesign we also introduced a step into the Sign-up process with Google SSO allowing teachers to import their classes from Google Classroom into Formative as they are setting up their new account.

Guest Student Default

Assignments for unactivated users will now automatically default to Guest student assignments, ensuring they can still engage with content without requiring immediate activation.

Multi-Language Learner Translations (Balanced Assessment Suite Feature)

Support for Multi-Language Learner translations has been improved, providing better accessibility for students who require translated content. This ensures a more inclusive learning experience.

Standard Alignment Clarity

The tagger component now displays jurisdiction and standard set titles, giving educators more clarity when aligning content with curriculum requirements.

Rubric Export Option

Rubrics can now be exported, making it easier for teachers to share, print, and reference grading criteria outside of the platform.

Summary Tab > Insights Tab

The Summary tab's title has been changed to Insights. Functionality has not changed.

Share Folders and Assessments with Full Orgs

Org Sharing for folders and assessments has been added to Formative. This replaces the old "Assign Access" feature used to give teams access. The main difference is that when set at the org level, the formative or folder now automatically shows up on teachers' activity lists.
Please note, we didn’t migrate existing settings on assessments and folders that have been shared prior to this change. Those older assessments remain available to assign but won't automatically appear on activity lists.

🤖 Beta and Early Access Features Updates

The below features have been added to our list of future features teachers can opt-in to test with us:

AI-Powered Formative Creation Now Supports Free Response

Teachers can now include Free Response question types when generating an AI-powered Formative, allowing for deeper student thinking and open-ended assessment.

More Control Over AI-Generated Questions

Educators can now select the exact number of AI-generated questions they need, 1-10, making it easier to tailor content to their lesson plans and student needs.
