We've been busy! Here's a sneak peek at our January 2024 new features and improvements:
Student Formative Entry Page
The Start button text on students' entry pages to formatives now changes to ‘Review’ once the assignment has been submitted or closed, providing students with a clear status update, which enhances the navigation and understanding of their progress.
Quick Links to Tracker Reports
Teachers can now add quick links directly from the tracker, allowing them to "bookmark" reports in their activities list. They can also add these quick links to a folder for ease of collaboration on results.
Data Access on Common Assessments
Data access is now limited to users within the selected organization or any of its child organizations, preventing access from users outside the org hierarchy, which improves security and maintains data integrity for schools.
Students - Mark Question for Review
Students now have a way to mark questions for later review. Once a question has been marked for review, the student will be reminded to circle back to it before they submit their work
🤖 Beta and Early Access Features Updates
The below features have been added to our list of future features teachers can opt-in to test with us:
AI-Generated Header Images
On top of the ability to adjust the formative header's background by selecting from our Gallery of images, uploading an image from your device or searching for an image on Google, we have now introduced the ability to generate formative header images with AI. The AI agent will use the formative's title as the prompt for image generation.
🛠️ Fixes
Every technological tool runs into hiccups here and there. If you run into any technical issues please submit a report to our team so we could go ahead and fix it!
Logo Update
We have updated the Formative logo in the app navigation.
Practice Sets - Write Mode
We continue to improve the AI prompt for Write Mode, ensuring more accurate and relevant blanks for students to fill in, leading to more meaningful student responses.
AI Generated Formatives Title
AI-generated formatives now feature a concise title generation prompt, replacing the previous hard cutoff of 20 characters, ensuring that titles are meaningful and not prematurely cut off, making assignments clearer for students.
Short Answer Accessibility
Short answer question text is now associated with the input, improving accessibility for students, especially those using screen readers or other assistive technologies.
🐞 Bugs
The below bugs were resolved throughout the month
Fixed an issue where paused assignments prevented teachers from previewing.
Fixed cloned practice sets inheriting "private" status from the original.
Resolved a bug where users couldn’t view notifications if they had one from an ex-student.
Fixed a bug where the required question banner covered progression actions in SQV.
Resolved an issue where numbered lists didn’t go beyond 9.
Fixed a chaotic UI when returning correct answers in matching questions.
Fixed overlapping content between section headers and adjacent content.
Updated the copy when the due date is not yet past.
