Set yourself up for success in the new school year! Follow these steps to kick off 2024-2025 smoothly! 

Archive 2023-2024 Classes: If you haven't done so yet, <a href="https://help.formative.com/en/articles/6185070-edit-archive-or-delete-classes#h_c240f69c24">Archiving your classes</a> will remove them from your dashboard and tracker, and clean up the students' dashboards. Click the class bubble in the Classes tab, then select "Archive." Do not delete classes! Archived data can be retrieved but deleted data cannot.

Set up 2024-2025 Classes: <a href="https://help.formative.com/en/articles/6160074-setting-up-classes-and-adding-students">Create new classes and add your students to them</a>. If you are a member of a school or district with a Gold plan, check with administration if classes will be automatically rostered for you or if you should set them up in your account on your own. If your classes are automatically rostered, take some time to review the rosters and ensure all classes have been created on your account, and all students have been added to the correct classes.

Organize your formatives into folders: Use <a href="https://help.formative.com/en/articles/265936-create-and-manage-folders">folders</a> to bundle units, chapters, or modules for easy access this year!

Make a copy and rename folders/formatives for 2024-2025: If you have not done so yet, we recommend to <a href="https://help.formative.com/en/articles/265936-create-and-manage-folders#h_4dbdc87bd7">make a copy</a> of last year's formatives/folders so returning students can retake assignments, and so you can make updates without affecting previous student work. Don't forget to rename the new copies and mark them for 2024-2025 to avoid any possible confusion!

Gold plan members: If you're a member of a school or district with a Gold plan with Formative, send<a href="https://help.formative.com/en/articles/3531219-how-to-set-up-training-and-professional-development-for-your-gold-plan"> this guide</a> to your Administrator, and encourage them to book a Professional Development session to enhance your staff usage of Formative this year!

Silver plan subscribers: If you're subscribed to our month-to-month Silver plan and placed a <a href="https://help.formative.com/en/articles/3904343-how-to-cancel-or-pause-an-individual-subscription">pause on your subscription</a> during summer - head over to your account's "Plan" page to lift the suspension and re-gain access to Silver features immediately.

Not a member of a Gold plan yet? <a href="https://www.formative.com/referadmin" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Refer your admin!</a> We will reach out to discuss your organization's specific needs and available options.
