The Achievements system aims to gamify the Formative experience in order to increase student engagement on the platform and drive meaningful learning.

For teachers, the Achievements system serves a similar purpose by encouraging teachers to explore the different capabilities of the platform and engage with their students' work.

The badges displayed on the achievements page can be earned in two ways:

  • Challenges have progressive levels that encourage consistent and continual use of Formative.

  • Awards are one-off achievements for accomplishing a singular task.
