Formative

The Achievements system aims to gamify the Formative experience in order to increase student engagement on the platform and drive meaningful learning. 

For teachers, the Achievements system serves a similar purpose by encouraging teachers to explore the different capabilities of the platform and engage with their students' work. 

The badges displayed on the achievements page can be earned in two ways: 

Challenges have progressive levels that encourage consistent and continual use of Formative.

Awards are one-off achievements for accomplishing a singular task.

Click on "My Account", located at the bottom of the left side menu

Students can currently achieve progressive levels of badges in two types of challenges:

Formative Fanatic Levels of this badge are achieved for the total number of formatives a student submits, encouraging students to complete and hand-in their work consistently.

Show Your Knowledge Levels of this badge are achieved for the total number of Formative questions a student provides an answer to and submits. It encourages students to complete all questions within a given formative.

Teachers can achieve progressive levels of Challenge badges in four types of challenges:

Formatives Assigned Levels are achieved for total number of formatives a teacher assigns to classes/students

Responses Received Levels are achieved for total number of student responses to the formatives a teacher assigns

Response Feedback Given Levels are achieved for total number of feedback responses a teacher sends in-app to students to improve their motivation and performance

Standards Tagged Levels are achieved for total number of questions tagged to standards.
