Teachers can create interactive image questions where students can choose answers from clickable options!
Create a Hot Spot question
Step 1: Create the question and add an image:
Click on the blue + button to open the 'Add Item' window
Choose "Hot Spot" from the Paid Questions list
Take a photo or Upload an image (PEG, PNG, GIF, DOC, PDF) from your local device or from Google Drive
Enter your question or directions in the text bar
Please note: Images must be less than 25 MB in size.
Step 2: Add clickable options:
From the top left corner menu, choose the shape you want to use for your clickable options. Other then dots, shapes are adjustable to your size of preference
Place your cursor and click once on the spot(s) you would like to turn clickable.
If needed - drag the cursor to adjust the shape to the desirable size. Please note: to complete size adjustment click once more
To delete a clickable option - click it once and then choose the trashcan symbol from the top left menu
There is no limit to the amount of clickable options
You can add different shapes of clickable options to the same image
Step 3: Define an answer key for auto-grading:
To mark an option correct, click it once and then choose the ✓ symbol from the top left menu (the option will be highlighted with a blue ✓ symbol
To unmark an option as correct, click it once again then choose the X symbol from the top left menu (the blue ✓ symbol will disappear)
To allow multiple correct answers, toggle on the "Allow Multiple Selections" button
Adjust question settings
Students will not be able to submit their work without providing an answer
Add a whiteboard style box for your students to showcase their work
Switch scoring method for this question from auto-grading to a rubric based grading.
If you toggld on "Multi-select" you will also have the ability to allow **Partial Credit" to take auto-grading up a notch by allowing your students to get credit for answering part of the question correct.
You can also add hints for your students, and tag the question to standards.

How we grade the "Allow Partial Credit" feature in Hot Spot questions
When you select “Allow Partial Credit”* you can choose between subtracting points for incorrect answers, or not subtracting points for incorrect answers.
If you choose to subtract points for incorrect answers, students’ scores will be auto-graded like this:
