A Match Table Grid question is a group of multiple-choice questions displayed in a grid of rows and columns. It allows students to select a single answer choice for each row inside the grid.

The Match Table Grid question, sometimes referred to as a Matrix question, is ideal to use when you have similar sub questions (rows) using the same answer choices (columns). Very often the answer choices are offered in a scale which makes this question type also ideal for surveys.

  1. Click on the "+" icon

  2. Choose "Match Table Grid" from the blue icons

  3. Enter your question along with any prompts or directions

  4. Enter a pre-defined answer to each column. You can add more columns by clicking the blue "+" icon to the right

  5. Enter sub-questions (rows). You can add more rows by clicking the blue "+" icon below the last row

  6. To set auto-grading mark the correct answer for each row

  7. Switch on "Allow Partial Credit" to take auto-grading up a notch by allowing your students to get credit for answering part of the question correct.

Just like the main question line, each column and row can accommodate additional content such as images, videos, audio files, and more!

Simply click the light "+" icon inside the cell and choose from the dropdown to upload, embed or create your content of choice:
