Access graphic organizers

Graphic organizers are added to any article within Newsela. Teachers can utilize these ready to use Newsela authored graphic organizers within Formative.

First, log-in to your Newsela account and click into the article of your choice. The graphic organizers can be accessed via the Formative section of the Assignment Builder (on the right side of the article's page)

Select a graphic organizer topic from the presented options by clicking on it. You will then be presented with multiple options for individual graphic organizers, scroll through to review the list and make your selection by clicking on your desired graphic organizer.

After making your selection, you will be re-directed to your Formative account, and prompted to save a copy of the graphic organizer within Formative. Click "Copy" to confirm.

Once the copy has been saved to your account, it will be added to your Activities tab. Locate it on your list and click into it. You will be able to tailor the formative to your liking, and assign it to your students.
