Standards
You can set default standards to tag and track student progress at any time:
Click on "Select your standards" (or "Add Standards set" if you already selected a set previously)
Search for your state or organization, or choose from the list
Search by subject, or choose from the list
Check-mark the Grade Levels (if applicable)
Your selection will be added to your account immediately. If you don't see it added, please refresh your browser's session.
If you need multiple standards, you will need to select them one by one. There is no limit to the number you can add to your account, so if you teach multiple subjects and grade levels, you can add all the relevant standards you need!
If you don't see your standards, click here.
Manage Score Thresholds
When you first sign up for Formative, the default score threshold will reflect a traditional grading framework (aka "Standard system score threshold colors").
Paid Teacher/School & District License users can change these default thresholds.
Default Point Value
Available to Paid Teacher and School & District users only.
The point value selected here will be automatically applied to any question you create across all formatives by default.
You can adjust the point value on individual questions when needed.
Default Assign Options
Available to Paid Teacher and School & District users only.
Save time when you assign your formatives by setting default assign settings. Any option selected here will be automatically applied to any assignment you create.
You can adjust the assign settings on individual formatives when needed.
Default Grading Method
The original default grading method on accounts is Answered only - meaning every formative will default to this grading method and will require manual adjustment at the assignment level to switch to Include unanswered in score.
Teachers can switch their account's default grading method from their account's Settings menu. Once switched to Include unanswered in score - all formatives will default to this grading method and will require a manual adjustment at the formative level to switch to Answered only.
