Add Audio Content
You can use the Audio option to record audio or upload a pre-recorded audio file for your students to listen to within a formative. This is helpful for assessing listening skills, multi-sensory learning (having a reading passage read-aloud), accommodations (having questions read-aloud) and more!
Note: Please ensure your microphone settings on the browser and the device allow Formative access to the device's microphone.
Record Audio
To record audio directly into the formative follow the steps below:
Click the blue plus button and select the "audio" content type
Click "Start Audio Recording"
The recording will automatically start when the countdown is finished. You will know it's recording as the timer will start and a red dot will indicate it is on
Click the pause button at any time to pause recording and click the play button when you are ready to resume recording from where you left off
Not happy with your recording? click the Restart button to delete your previous recording and immediately start a new one, or click the trash can icon to delete your previous recording without starting a new one
When you're satisfied with your recording, click the red stop button to have the recording processed and uploaded into your formative
Wait until the recording is uploaded (this may take some time for long recordings)
Once the recording has uploaded you can click the "play button" to hear it before posting
If you're not satisfied with the recording, click "Replace Audio Recording" to start a new one
If you're satisfied with the recording, click "Add Audio" to post the recording to your formative
You can click the 3 dots to the far right of the recording to either download the audio file to your device, or to adjust playback speed both before adding the audio and after it has been added
You can also click "Replace Audio Recording" to replace the recording with a new one after the audio has been added
Note: You can also add content between other things on your formative. Simply click on the + icon in between questions or content you've already created and select from the menu that appears
Note: Each recording has a 10 minute limit, so you should have plenty of time to read questions, instructions, and passages, but plan ahead to make multiple recordings if needed.

Already have an audio file pre-recorded? You can upload it into your formative!
Please note this function supports only WAV and MP3 files, with a 25 MB limit.

Select the desired file
Click "Add Audio" to post the Audio file to your formative
